Trident Pearl Marketing
Trident Pearl Marketing was established by Tim Jones in January 2023, with the principal objective of ensuring that the South Sea pearl farmer attains the best possible price for their harvests.

The Company specializes in the polishing, grading, valuation, and distribution of pearls to its clients worldwide, primarily through the organisation of bespoke auctions. Its comprehensive services also include: market intelligence reporting, harvest profile assessment, and logistical support for shipping and trade shows.

Trident Pearl Marketing works in collaboration with PT Ocean Blue Mutiara, one of Indonesia's preeminent South Sea pearl farmers. With offices in Denpasar and North Bali and over 80 employees, the business can provide a high level of service and logistical support from both Australia and Indonesia.
Services
Pearl Grading
TPM has over twenty years' experience in the accurate grading of pearl harvests. Consistency in grading is key to providing the buyer with the confidence to make bolder bids when valuing the pearl lots.
Auctions
Auctions are the most reliable way to ensure that the farmer achieves the market price for their harvest. TPM will ensure that your harvest is inspected at auction by a host of the world's major pearl buyers. Depending on the size of the harvest on offer, the number of finely graded lots will range between 100 and 250 lots.
Harvest Valuation
Once graded into auction lots TPM will provide the farmer with a detailed breakdown of each lot by shape, size, colour and quality, in addition to its estimated market valuation.
Alternate Distribution
If the pearl volume is relatively small it might be preferable to sell your pearls through private negotiation or a mini-auction. Alternatively, you may consider exhibiting at a Trade Fair and present the goods paired or stranded. TPM can advise and facilitate these various options for you.
Polishing
Unpolished, the pearls may appear dull and lacklustre and consequently unappealing to the discerning buyer. TPM will polish your pearls using state of the art pearl polishing equipment, which will bring out the natural lustre of your pearls and accentuate their presentation.
Consultation
TPM provides a wide range of pearl-related services: assessment of your current grading standard, advice on the pricing of your product, detailed harvest profile assessments, market reports, assistance with shipping, branding opportunities or general distribution-related business.
Benefits of TPM
No payment delays
TPM invoices its customers with the farmer's bank details so the money goes directly into their account straight after the auction. Other auction houses receive all monies directly into their own bank accounts and the farmer may sometimes have to wait several weeks for remittance.
Alternate distribution options
Large auctions are not the only option. TPM offers the flexibility of selling the farmer's pearls through private negotiation or mini-auction depending on the market situation and the stock profile at the time of harvest.
TPM is not a farmer
Indonesian Auctions
By selling their harvests domestically farmers are not beholden to sell their pearls, if they are not happy with the highest auction prices achieved. Exorbitant Indonesian importation taxes unfortunately make it prohibitively expensive to re-import any unsold goods.
Brand Development
TPM can develop a brand identity as well as brand awareness for the farmer, through website development (see www.oceanbluepearls.com) and a targeted social media marketing campaign. This may empower the farmer in the future, in the event that it wishes to manage its own distribution.
Most of the large auction houses are also farmers themselves and have a vested interested in prioritising the best price for their own production over that of their clients.
